1. Who we are
Blueboot Apps, Grange Cottage, Grange Lane, York, YO23 3QZ, United Kingdom, is responsible for the personal information described here where we decide how and why it is used. Contact support@bluebootapps.com with a question or rights request.
2. Information we handle
Depending on how you interact with us, we may handle:
- Website and technical data: ordinary server information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, time, response status and diagnostic data.
- Support data: your email address, message, attachments and anything else you choose to send.
- Account and billing data: your email address, licence key, plan and licence status, Stripe customer identifier and purchase records, and related timestamps. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
- Magpie UI inspection data: selected page content, CSS, HTML, generated exports, page details and saved captures. Standard inspection and saved-library data stay in your browser.
- Magpie UI AI requests: when you deliberately run an AI tool, the selected CSS, requested action and information needed to verify your Pro licence and usage allowance are sent to our backend.
3. How and why we use information
We use information to provide and secure our websites and products, validate licences, deliver paid features, process requested AI actions, manage purchases and AI credits, answer support requests, diagnose faults, enforce plan limits and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Our lawful bases depend on the activity: performing our contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business and service, or consent where we specifically ask for it. We do not sell personal information or use inspection data to build advertising profiles.
4. Magpie UI is local-first
Selecting an element, generating standard output tabs, saving a capture, resizing the panel or using the detached inspector does not upload the inspected page to Blueboot Apps. Magpie UI stores settings, licence information, panel preferences and saved captures in browser extension storage until you remove them, clear extension data or uninstall the extension, subject to your browser's storage behaviour.
Running an AI tool is the exception: Magpie UI sends the selected CSS needed for that requested transformation. Opening the inspector alone does not send the whole page.
5. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Magpie UI handles website content, page details, saved captures and licence information only to provide or improve its disclosed inspection, export, local-library, licence and user-requested AI features. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or permit human access except with the user's explicit consent for support, where required for security or legal compliance, or where data has been aggregated and anonymised for legitimate internal operations.
6. Providers and international transfers
We use service providers only where reasonably needed to operate our services. These include Stripe for checkout and payments; OpenAI when you request a Magpie UI AI action; and hosting, database, email and security providers. They may process information on our behalf or as an independent controller for parts of their service.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we rely on an applicable adequacy regulation or recognised contractual safeguards. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect users or our rights, or during a business reorganisation.
7. Cookies and tracking
The Blueboot Apps and Magpie UI marketing websites do not currently use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or behavioural advertising. Following a checkout or billing link takes you to Stripe, which operates its own service and cookie practices.
8. Retention
We retain account, licence and purchase records while needed to provide a product and afterwards only for legitimate support, fraud prevention, dispute, tax, accounting or legal purposes. Usage counts are kept only as long as reasonably needed to enforce allowances and investigate misuse. Support messages are retained while handling the request and for a reasonable follow-up or record-keeping period.
Magpie UI does not intentionally add AI-submitted CSS or the returned response to its application database. Infrastructure and processors may retain limited request, operational or safety records under their configured practices and legal obligations. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier processing.
Email support@bluebootapps.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Security, children and changes
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Never email passwords, full payment-card details or API keys. Our products are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect children's information.
We may update this notice when our products, providers or legal duties change. The current version will remain here with its updated date.
